The property tax assessment in Armenia is inadequate and disproportionate, and the most complicated issue is the precise determination of the tax base. The rest is a matter of technique.

This is what Armenia’s Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan declared when the report on the implementation and achieved outcomes under the Program of the Government were being discussed during the session of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs of the National Assembly on 21 March. He also stated that the activities in this direction continue.

The minister stated that the State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre will finish its activities by the end of the year and present its approaches to collection of property taxes that, according to Janjughazyan, will allow to apply those approaches starting from 1 January.
