I feel more and more guilty every time people pay a lot of attention to me, be it willingly or unwillingly. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan declared live on Facebook today as he responded to a question on how long Pashinyan is preparing to complete the tasks of all government officials.

“As Prime Minister, as a political figure and as a person, I am extremely focused on me and the tasks of other government officials simply aren’t apparent. I have been thinking about this a lot over the past ten months because sometimes it seems to me that the press and social media websites are focused too much on me, and this is why I don’t notice the work that other government officials and my teammates are doing. I’m not saying everyone is perfect, but I see that these people are working. What we have today is the result of teamwork,” he stated.

The Prime Minister assured that he only does his job and stated he is not content with his work and the work of all the other government officials.

Pashinyan stressed the fact that certain political circles very often manipulate and spread lies about his team. “Our teammates are very often criticized unfairly and also because of political manipulations,” Pashinyan said.

Pashinyan said he doesn’t share the approach that there is no need to respond to every allegation. “As a journalist and as a deputy of the National Assembly, I have always responded to allegations. However, I haven’t always responded on the spot. I also advise my colleagues to always respond to allegations. I believe it is necessary,” he said.
