YEREVAN. – At Thursday’s Cabinet session, the government of Armenia decided to allocate AMD 33,680,000 (approx. US$70,900) to the Office of the Prime Minister, from the government reserve fund.

Tsovinar Soghomonyan, Deputy Chief of Prime Minister Staff, presented this matter at the Cabinet meeting. She noted that under a grant agreement, this amount will be disbursed to the “Union of Informed Citizens Stepanakert Office” NGO and the Transparency International Anticorruption Center.

“These funds are provided to carry out an observation mission in the local self-government elections to be held in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) in September,” Soghomonyan added.

And Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, for his part, noted that Armenia needs to assist in guaranteeing the free expression of the will of the people of Artsakh.
