Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic) Ashot Ghulyan on Tuesday held an “independence lesson” for the first-year students of Artsakh State University.

Ghulyan congratulated the students of universities and all other educational institutions of Artsakh on the occasion of Knowledge and Scholastics Day and all Armenians on the occasion of Independence Day of Artsakh.

The parliamentary speaker welcomed the fact that the lesson was being held in the hall of parliament in which major decisions are made and gave a brief historical background of the declaration of independence of the Republic of Artsakh, the struggle for the liberation of Artsakh and the work that has been done to strengthen statehood over the years.

Minister of Defense of Artsakh and commander of the Defense Army Karen Abrahamyan, as well as Minister of Education, Science and Sport Narine Aghabalyan and Rector of Artsakh State University Armen Sargsyan also attended and spoke at the meeting held in the large sessions hall of the parliament.
