Armenian FM Zohrab Mnatsakanyan denied judgments on the existence of contradictions with Artsakh authorities during the press conference on Friday.

According to him, it is normal to have disagreements.

“Everyone has them. If there are contacts, there may be disagreements. Representing them as a crisis or conflict is the boundary of creating drama in a relationship. I exclude dramas,” he said.

As confirmation, he cited the fact of numerous meetings with Karabakh colleagues and active dialogue with the authorities of Artsakh.

“We meet to discuss and consult to find a way to resolve the conflict. Dialogue and comparison of goals,” the Foreign Minister noted. “I understand that the fourth power is interested in conflicts and disagreements. But I don’t think that there is a crisis or an occasion to talk about it.”

Commenting on the statement of the Prime Minister of Armenia in Stepanakert that ‘Artsakh is Armenia’ the Foreign Minister recalled the MFA statement of August 6. According to him, the statement must be considered in the context of what has been said and emphasis. The prime minister spoke about the priorities of Armenians, unity, and development, common goals, the minister recalled. At the same time, he noted that for the Armenian side, a peaceful settlement has no alternative.

Speaking about the situation on the contact line, he noted that there is a significant difference between what is and what happened, and this is a consequence of the Dushanbe agreements.

“It is necessary to reduce the risks of escalation. This is not the only but necessary goal to create an atmosphere conducive to peace,” the Foreign Minister noted.

According to him, direct operational communication, being an effective tool, serves the same purpose.
