The Central Election Commission of Abkhazia recognized the presidential elections held yesterday, the Central Election Commission chair Tamaz Gogia told reporters on Monday.

“I am authorized to declare that the election of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia has taken place,” TASS reported referring to Gogia.

The current head of Abkhazia, Raul Khajimba, according to preliminary data, wins the presidential election, gaining 47.38%, Gogia added.

The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Abkhazia approved the preliminary results of the election of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia.
