Leader of the Free Democrats Party Khachatur Kokobelyan today hosted US Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy at the political party’s headquarters.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the priorities of Armenia’s domestic and foreign policies, particularly the talks over settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the current security and economic challenges and the need for implementation of reforms in the justice sector.

Ambassador Tracy expressed gratitude for the meeting and stated the following: “I value the longstanding ties of the US Embassy with Armenia’s political parties, including the Free Democrats Party. The US continues to stay true to its commitment to support democratic, economic and social governance in Armenia.”

Khachatur Kokobelyan stressed the fact that both Armenia and the United States have to work for significant increase of the volume of US investments, highly appreciated the US government’s contribution to the functioning of democratic institutions in Armenia and expressed his gratitude for the US House of Representatives’ passage of Resolution 296 recognizing the Armenian Genocide.
