The Jewish community of Armenia, as a public organization, has existed since 1991, while Jews have lived on the territory of historical Armenia for centuries, chair of the community Rima Varzhapetyan-Feller told Armenian News - NEWS.am revering to statement of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

According to her, she does not want to respond to provocations from the leadership and pseudo-specialists of the neighboring republic.

Unfortunately, they are trying to use the Jews as a tool to solve their problems and as an apple of contention between nations. This is very low and completely short-sighted, she said.

Noting that she has been the head of the community since 1996, Rima Varzhapetyan-Feller noted that the community is known all over the world and does not need to be approved or refuted in any way.

Not only Jewish organizations from around the world know about us, and government agencies from Israel are actively working with us, she noted adding that she has no need to prove to either Aliyev, Azerbaijan or anyone else the fact of their existence.
