The Armenian Criminal Court of Appeal today announced the decision taken as a result of the discussion of the complaint against the decision on choosing a preventive measure over Armenian parliament’s ex-deputy chief of staff Arsen Babayan, his lawyer Yervand Varosyan wrote on Facebook.

According to him, it is clear that the court recorded the violation of Babayan’s rights, considering that practically all the arguments put forward by the defense were justified, starting with the lack of reasonable suspicions, violation of the terms for discussing the legality of detention and ending with the absence of legal grounds for arrest.

Amid the facts that a different preventive measure, not related to deprivation of liberty, has already been applied to Babayan, after receiving the text of the decision and reviewing it, we will decide whether it fully satisfies us or not.
