YEREVAN. – The Criminal Court of Appeals of Armenia is set to hear on December 16, the appeal by the lawyers of second President Robert Kocharyan.

This will be the first hearing with the new composition, and the case has been assigned by Judge Lusine Abgaryan.

At a previous court hearing, Judge Mkhitar Papoyan granted the prosecution’s motion and recused himself from presiding over this hearing.

Kocharyan's legal defenders have appealed the November 7 ruling of Judge Anna Danibekyan of the Court of First Instance, who had denied the motion to release Robert Kocharyan on bail.
