There are many concerns. I believe the President would address the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in more detail, if it was the topic of the President’s interview. This is what Victor Soghomonyan, head of the Office of second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, told journalists during the third session of Lazarev Club, touching upon the concerns that Kocharyan expressed in regard to the talks over the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in his recent interview.

“Over the past years and decades, I don’t remember any of the intermediaries declaring that some Azerbaijani community has to participate in the talks. Until now, we don’t have a clear picture of the government’s concept with which they are participating in the talks,” he said.

According to Soghomonyan, Armenia needs to immediately refute certain claims that Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov made in an interview with an Azerbaijani television station. “If Armenia doesn’t refute those claims quickly, we can assume that Mammadyarov is right, and what he is talking about is the status of the Republic of Artsakh within the composition of Azerbaijan.”
