The Eurasian Economic Commission is currently working on the agreement to acknowledge the rights of Armenian drivers. This is what Chair of the Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration of the National Assembly of Armenia, deputy of Prosperous Armenia Party Mikayel Melkumyan told journalists at the National Assembly today.

He recalled that the First Vice-Chairman of the Committee on CIS countries of the Russian State Duma had said the issue would be solved by the end of this year.

“In mid-November, the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission sent information stating that it was preparing to solve this issue and was drafting an agreement within the scope of the Eurasian Economic Union since this particular point in the Russian legislation contradicts Moscow’s commitments to the Eurasian Economic Union,” Melkumyan clarified and added that it was necessary to wait for the decision to be ready and be ratified by all the member states of the Union.
