Following the change of chairman, Armenia will receive two ministerial positions in the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

Accordingly, Artak Kamalyan (Deputy Minister of Economy) and Gegham Vardanyan (Deputy Minister of Hi-Tech Industry) will become new representatives from Armenia in the new EEC Board.

Kamalyan has been appointed EEC Member of the Board - Minister  in charge of Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex.

Vardanyan has been appointed as EEC Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Internal Markets, Information Support, Information and Communication Technologies. He will replace Karine Minasyan (Armenia) in that position.

The new staff of the EEC Board will begin its duties on January 1.

From that day on, the post of Chairman of the EEC Board will be held by Belarusian Prime Minister and the current Head of the Council of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich.

The current Chairman of the EEC, former Governor of the Central Bank of Armenia and former Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan has been the Chairman of the EEC since February 1, 2016.
