The prosecutor in the case of the Armenian second president Robert Kocharyan, Petros Petrosyan, has refrained from evaluating the Court of Appeal's ruling.

As reported earlier, Criminal Court of Appeal, chaired by Judge Armen Danielyan, satisfied the complaint of the prosecutor's office against the ruling of the court of first instance to provide protection of the materials of the case on the events of March 1, 2008. The prosecutor's office considers that the publication and even acquaintance of lawyers can harm the interests of others.

Petrosyan recalled that the ruling could be appealed to the Court of Cassation.

“If the court of cassation considers it appropriate to speak out on the issue of uniformity of application of the law, it will take the matter into consideration and make a decision,” the prosecutor told reporters . According to him, there is no gap in the law, but there is a question of uniform application of the law.

According to him, they cannot evaluate the ruling of the court of first instance and the court of appeal. He noted that the Code of Criminal Procedure regulates when it is possible to get acquainted with the materials.
