The residents of the Tsovak rural community in Gegharkunik Province of Armenia have reopened the road leading to their village and which they kept closed for several hours. Tsovak mayor Garik Hakobyan told about this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

"Deputy Governor Narek Grigoryan has come to the site of the [protest] action, and said that a tender will be announced by mid-March to repair the road," Hakobyan said, noting that the repair of this road will be financed by the World Bank.

He added that this road is 14.5 kilometers, but has become impassable, especially after rainfall.

"That's why the residents had come out to protest," the village mayor said. "Now the [protest] actions will stop until the tender is announced."

As reported earlier, the residents of the Tsovak rural community had blocked the road to their village, and they demand that the road be repaired.
