The activities of the Constitutional Court (CC) must be in line with the Constitution, whereas in our case, [then President] Serzh Sargsyan and [current CC chief judge] Hrayr Tovmasyan have given each other a pass. He [Tovmasyan] said [to Sargsyan], "I give you the post of Prime Minister," and he [Sargsyan] said [to Tovmasyan], "I give you the post of CC President." Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during the YES campaign—in the forthcoming referendum on constitutional amendments—in Kajaran town.

He noted that just as the people took the post of Prime Minister away from Serzh Sargsyan, the people shall in the same way take the post of CC President away from Hrayr Tovmasyan at the aforesaid referendum on April 5.

"Only the people, the citizens of Armenia decide the fate of the power," Pashinyan added, in particular.

He then referred to the other CC judges, saying: “The CC members whom you want to send home are equally responsible for all the misfortunes (…) that have taken place in the Republic of Armenia, because the seven members of that CC have been the lackey of the power throughout their activities.

The revolution [that occurred in the country] will have no meaning if Nikol Pashinyan's lackey court is formed instead of Serzh Sargsyan's lackey court. (...). Armenia needs a self-governing, independent, objective judiciary and CC.”
