Head of the European Commission offered to impose a 30-day ban on entry of foreign citizens to the EU area as a part of measures to combat coronavirus outbreak.

“The less travel, the more we can contain the virus,” Von der Leyen said. “Therefore I propose to the heads of state and government to introduce temporary restriction on non-essential travel to the EU.”

The exception will be made for permanent residents of EU, members of their families, diplomats, doctors and researchers.
