Georgian and foreign journalists were not allowed to be present at a meeting dedicated to the 96th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide held in Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi.

Special meeting was organized on Thursday by “Free Georgia” party and supported by the Assembly of Armenians of Tbilisi in the building of city council.

Members of the City Council, representatives of the Tbilisi-based Armenian organizations and the diplomatic corps were present, Assembly of Armenians of Tbilisi informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Aghet: A Genocide” documentary by German filmmaker Eric Friedler was screened.


However, representatives of Georgian and foreign mass media were not allowed to be present  by order of the chief of staff of City Council Marina Datukishvili.
