The case of fake bank guarantees granted by Russian Voyage Company has been sent to the National Security Service of Armenia, and there is no doubt that it will be properly investigated. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said in response to a question from deputy of the Bright Armenia faction of the National Assembly Ani Samsonyan during a question-and-answer session with government officials in parliament today.

“The director of Russian Voyage Company is a relative of the Ghalumyans, and we know that the acting mayor of Ijevan Hayk Ghalumyan is the Prime Minister’s close one. Therefore, I thought you would have paid attention to this issue. Is there a criminal case instituted in relation to this or not?” the deputy asked.

Pashinyan reminded that the case was disclosed by the State Supervision Service adjunct to the Prime Minister and touched upon the relationship that the deputy had mentioned.

“Armenia is a small country, and if we dig deep, we can find ties with all families. I will assign the relevant officials to deal with this issue. There are very few people in Armenia who are linked to each other through ties. If you’re hinting that the fake bank guarantees can be linked to the government, you have a wrong notion of the government. You have the right to express doubt. In Armenia, my nephew has been subjected to criminal liability, and you should have no doubt that your relative will also be held criminally liable, if he or she violates the law, and the fact that you are an opposition MP won’t save your relative,” he stated.

The deputy also asked about the closed joint-stock company for construction and exploitation of roads in Ijevan which has committed acts of misuse and stated that this company is also linked to the Ghalumyans, in response to which the Prime Minister said he's hearing it for the first time.
