Since ex officio I follow the responses of Azerbaijan, I can say that the statement by Hrant Bagratyan has motivated the Azerbaijani authorities quite a lot. This is what Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia Gabriel Balayan stated during a briefing at the National Assembly today, referring to Hrant Bagratyan as an inglorious figure.

Bagratyan recently declared that if he was Aliyev, he would attack Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and Armenia in three to four months.

“If he and others like him spoke on behalf of the adversary, it would be rather natural for them to make statements that would motivate the adversary. I don’t know what their purpose is, but I assure you that this can in no way have an impact on the army’s efficiency,” he said.

Asked if the adversary wasn’t motivated when it was declared that the Four-Day Artsakh War could have been the result of an agreement, Balayan said the following: “The Ministry of Defense will take relevant measures to bring those making such statements to justice, based on the interests of Armenia’s national security and defense at the given moment.” Balayan added that 17 criminal cases have been instituted in relation to the events that took place in April 2016, 15 of them have been dismissed, one is still in court, and the other is in progress.
