High-ranking officials' actions should not contradict Prime Minister's statements, said Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan referring to Monday's resignations.

As reported earlier, Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian on Monday received proposals from Pashinyan on the dismissal of Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Artak Davtyan, head of the National Security Service (NSS) Eduard Martirosyan and Chief of Police Arman Sargsyan.

Thanking the police chief and NSS director, Pashinyan noted that their potential for serving the people and the state has not been exhausted, and if they express interest in this regard, the issue will be considered.

According to the PM, it is high-ranking officials who must show the importance of observing anti-epidemiological rules.

"I want this to be clear and understandable to everyone: there cannot be a situation where the actions of a high-ranking government official contradict the text and context of the prime minister’s words," he noted.
