YEREVAN. – We have had very difficult and unexpected situations, and now our biggest challenge, which has arisen in addition to police functions, is the coronavirus pandemic. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this Tuesday while introducing the newly appointed Chief of Police, Vahe Ghazaryan, to the staff of the Police of Armenia, expressing hope that this pandemic is temporary and the country will overcome it soon.

"And in the near future, the quality of police work will be essential in overcoming the pandemic. No matter how much the whole staff of the police is on the verge of exhaustion, new energy must be transferred—no matter how impossible it may seem. From the very beginning, we must focus on the observance of anti-epidemic rules and, in this context, on the quality, the rapid noticeable improvement of the police service,” Pashinyan added.

He mentioned that during this time he was in constant communication with the outgoing Chief of Police, Arman Sargsyan. "It would be very right to pass the information, content accumulated over this time to the newly appointed chief of the police so that we can bring the solutions to life as soon as possible. I would like to thank Mr. Sargsyan for his work. We will analyze together what happened, the work done during this period," he added, in particular.
