YEREVAN. – I see a problem in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other spheres of public service of the Republic of Armenia in terms of the equivalence of employees' salaries. Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan stated this during Thursday’s debates on the 2019 state budget performance report, at the joint sitting of the standing committees of the National Assembly, answering the MPs' questions.

According to him, the salaries of public sector employees of the country should be increased. "The deferment of this matter ensures the preservation of instability in state structures—from the point of view of implementing an effective policy," Mnatsakanyan said.

He added that there is some misconception that when diplomats go abroad for work, everything immediately starts to go well. "It is not so. Our diplomats live quite modestly abroad," the minister assured.
