YEREVAN. – The State Revenue Committee disseminates information related to the given case within the permissible limits of the investigation, taking into account the limits of confidentiality, the requirement of public awareness, and the high level of public interest. Edvard Hovhannisyan, the new chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia, said this in a conversation with journalists after Thursday’s government session, and referring to the criminal case against Mikael Minasyan, the former ambassador to the Vatican.

"Proper information is provided in our message about the actions allegedly committed by Minasyan," he added.

And asked whether they are going to appeal the Criminal Court of Appeal decision to lift the pretrial arrest of Minasyan, Hovhannisyan responded: "After receiving the decision and getting acquainted with it, the relevant process will be given. As far as I know, the appellate court has returned the matter of the motion for arrest to the court of first instance for a new examination.”
