Leader of Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan’s Onira Club LLC, in relation to which a case is instituted by the National Security Service of Armenia, has paid AMD 31,700,000,000 to the state budget throughout the seven years of its existence, and AMD 11,500,000,000 of that amount was paid during the administration of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This is what Armenian News-NEWS.am found out after combining its data with the data posted on the official website of the State Revenue Committee. Onira Club LLC, which is represented by Shangri La Casino and Pharaon Complex, is 25th on the list of Armenia’s large taxpayers, based on the data provided for the first quarter of the year 2020. Onira Club’s shareholders are Gagik Tsarukyan and his wife, Javahir Tsarukyan, and Multi Group Concern holds 2.8% of shares.

The issue on discontinuation of licensing of Onira Club LLC (granted in 2013) was discussed back in April of this year, but the licensing committee of the Ministry of Finance for lotteries, chance games and online chance games approved the conclusion regarding Onira Club during an April 30 session, and Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan dismissed the administrative proceedings. However, two months after this decision, the National Security Service established that not only is there a violation in regard to issuance of the license, there has also been damage worth AMD 29,700,000,000 to the state budget.

The Armenian government talks about improvement of the investment climate a lot, but its contradicting decisions are causing great harm to the economy.
