YEREVAN. – The National Assembly (NA) of Armenia on Tuesday started its regular sittings. There are 42 matters on the agenda.

In addition, today the parliament will debate on the petition by Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan to take parliamentary opposition Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader, MP, and business tycoon Gagik Tsarukyan into custody and to prosecute him.

To note, three criminal cases have been initiated in connection with Tsarukyan. One of them refers to vote buying during the 2017 parliamentary election, and the second—to Tsarukyan's business activities.

The PAP states that what is happening is political persecution. Gagik Tsarukyan himself has stated that he is ready for any development and will go all the way.
