Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan has posted the following on his Facebook page:

“I believe it would be better if the former judges of the Constitutional Court use their time and pack their bags instead of giving interviews on the background of people who are ‘politically dead’.”

According to the constitutional amendments adopted by the National Assembly, the powers of three members of the Constitutional Court shall terminate, and Hrayr Tovmasyan shall be stripped of his powers as president of the Constitutional Court. The members claim that those amendments are unconstitutional since they were adopted through violations. In particular, the draft constitutional amendments weren’t forwarded to the Constitutional Court.
