Italian authorities are considering the possibility of taking fiscal measures to stimulate investment in the auto and tourism industries, the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Reuters reported referring to PM Giuseppe Conte.

The Italian PM noted that starting next week, the government will begin to develop the appropriate tax reform, but he did not eleborate.

The auto industry and tourism are the most important industries of the Italian economy. The auto industry share of the country's GDP is 6.2%, while tourism contributes about 13% to GDP.

According to the UN data, Italy is the world’s fifth most visited country.

However, it turned out to be one of the countries most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic: the death toll there has almost reached 35,000.
