Eduard Aslanyan, attorney of victim of the events of March 1, 2008 Sergey Yeghiazaryan, filed a motion with the court to dismiss the prosecutors under the case of second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and other ex-officials.

As Aslanyan stated, the motion is linked to the subjectivity of the prosecutors. He thoroughly indicated the violations by which his client was declared as a victim, the absence of documents certifying the damage caused to him and the fact that his rights to submit a civil claim within the scope of the case are restricted.

Based on the aforementioned, Aslanyan filed a motion to dismiss prosecutors Petros Petrosyan and Gevorg Baghdasaryan.

Seda Safaryan, another attorney of the victims, expressed the view that the motion was groundless, and the victims shared that opinion.

Attorney Hayk Alumyan recorded the government’s biased approach to compensation for the damage caused to the victims. Attorney Hovhannes Khudoyan seconded his fellow attorney and stated that there are ‘good’ and ‘bad’ victims and that the Prosecutor General’s Office divides the victims into ‘good’ and ‘bad’.

Attorneys Vardges Gevorgyan and Eric Alexanyan also supported the motion. Gevorgyan stated that when the attorneys demand the dismissal of a prosecutor, this is expected, but when the victims demand this, this shows the serious problems with court examination.

As expected, the prosecutors went against this. Petros Petrosyan sharply appealed the subjective approach and declared that all victims have received compensation for damage.
