The wife of Narek Sardaryan, a captive in Azerbaijan, on Saturday approached Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during an event in Khndzoresk community of Syunik Province—and dedicated to Supreme Commander’s Day.

"I am Narek Sardaryan's wife. I wanted to ask what information do you have [regarding him]? I have no information from Narek," she said.

In response, Pashinyan said that he could not say much. "Unfortunately, he did not end up at a relative, but an adversary. We need to determine what we can do," he said.

And minister of defense Davit Tonoyan said: "We will talk [about it] now, we will talk on the way. I will be here."

Narek Sardaryan, a resident of Nerkin Khndzoresk village of Syunik Province, went missing on July 8 while grazing his cattle in pastures near the border with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. It turned out that Sardaryan had gotten lost while searching for his lost animals and crossed into Nakhichevan, where he was taken captive. Measures are taken to have him returned to Armenia.
