On US presidential election night Tuesday, Los Angeles police detained about 40 people who had blocked train tracks and refused to disperse when their assembly was declared unlawful.

Earlier, police had declared the assembly in downtown Los Angeles as unlawful. According to Los Angeles Times, people refused to disperse, and several demonstrators threw water bottle at the police.
