Today the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe held a session, and the humanitarian consequences of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan were on the agenda.

During the session, deputy of the Prosperous Armenia faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Naira Zohrabyan gave a speech in which she called on international organizations and the PACE to not be silent and stated that their children will be attacked with phosphorous munition by the Turkish-Azerbaijani terrorist tandem due to their silence. Naira Zohrabyan addressed the women deputies attending the session if any one of them can imagine what an Armenian mother feels when her son is tortured by Turkish and Azerbaijani terrorists and when the picture of the tortured son is sent to her.

Zohrabyan also stated the following: “While we are discussing different European agendas, children and women continue to be killed in Artsakh, the Turkish-Azerbaijani terrorist tandem continues to shell the civilian settlements of Artsakh, soldiers are dying on the frontline, the Turks, Azerbaijanis and terrorists continue to treat prisoners of war horribly.”

She also said that several countries have already confirmed the fact that militant terrorists brought from Syria and other hot zones by Turkey to fight in the Azerbaijani army, adding that a hybrid world war has begun and Artsakh is on the anti-terrorist frontline of the war.

“If you are silent when full-fledged NATO member Turkey is directly participating in the war and managing the army of Azerbaijan, and if the PACE finds that it can simply express deep concern and insure itself from future responsibility, it is wrong.

I have never valued the statement by any leader of Turkey, but it is hard for me to disagree with former Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu who just recently said that Erdogan is more dangerous for the world than COVID-19. Think about this, dear colleagues, before it is too late,” she said.
