The battles continue in Shushi; "cleaning" works are being carried out. Artsvik Sargsyan, the mayor of this fortress city of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), told this to RFE/RL.

"At night the outskirts were bombed where the enemy is. Movement was noticed by the enemy—with their many pickups; (…) they were moving towards Isa spring, and it was there that they were destroyed," said Sargsyan.

He noted that at this moment the battles continue on the outskirts of Shushi.

The mayor has no doubt that Shushi will not only remain Armenian, but will be rebuilt with lightning speed. "God willing, Shushi will be built [again]; it has been in history," Artsvik Sargsyan added.
