Armenian News - NEWS.am presents the latest news on the controversial Nagorno-Karabakh peace deal signed late on Monday:

• People are demolishing, destroying, and burning down their own houses in Kashatagh Region of Nagorno-Karabakh, leaving following the controversial peace deal signed late on Monday by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The truce calls for the deployment of almost 2,000 Russian peacekeepers to the conflict zone, where Azerbaijan will receive significant territorial concessions.

The people of Karvachar have 48 hours to leave their homes, as those territories shall be handed over to Azerbaijan by Sunday.

Many Artsakh residents are going to Dadivank to say goodbye to the monastery. Some of them are simply crying.

In the meantime, the Artsakh Defense Army has reported that 125 more servicemen had fallen.

Thus, the Armenian side military death toll has exceeded 1,200.

• Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the establishment of an interdepartmental center for humanitarian response in Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to Putin, the center will help Yerevan and Baku to establish contacts.

During a meeting on resolving humanitarian issues in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, he highlighted the importance of returning the population in Karabakh to a peaceful life.

He also noted that the number of victims, including among the civilian population exceeded four thousand people, over eight thousand people were wounded, the number of refugees is reportedly in the tens of thousands.

Putin instructed the Russian FM to notify international organizations about the situation in Karabakh and instructed the MFA to inform the UN, OSCE, and UNESCO on the situation in the conflict zone.

Referring to a peace deal, Putin noted that the joint statement of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia on Nagorno-Karabakh made it possible to stop the bloodshed and stabilize the situation in the region.

Meanwhile, Russia has deployed five additional border posts in Armenia.

• The deal raised heated discussions and led to huge protests in Yerevan as citizens and opposition politicians are demanding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his government resign.

A lot of opposition figures have been detained these days, including opposition leader Gagik Tsarukyan, for organizing rallies. The latter, however, has been released from court and his detention was declared illegal.

However, on Friday evening, Tsarukyan was reportedly being taken to National Security Service.

The rally by 17 opposition parties of Armenia was again underway in downtown Yerevan on Friday. However, before the start of this rally, the leaders of all these 17 political forces were summoned to the Special Investigation Service.

The police loudspeaker announces that it is prohibited to hold a rally now, as martial law is still in force in Armenia.

• Russian president's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, in turn, noted that Turkey has taken a consistent position in approving the military operation in Karabakh.

According to him, Turkey approved the scenario of using force for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. "Our positions on this issue differ. However, this does not prevent us from continuing close cooperation at all, including at the highest levels."

Earlier, Russia and Turkey have signed a memorandum on the creation of a Russian-Turkish joint ceasefire control in Nagorno-Karabakh.

In the meantime, the Russian MFA spokesperson noted that the militants who moved to Karabakh did not ‘disappear,’ they did not ‘evaporate.’

• The Armenian My Step ruling party MP Vardan Atabekyan left faction amid disagreements with the political team following the peace deal signed by the PM.

From now on he will act as an independent deputy.

"I will direct my further parliamentary activity towards a way out of the current situation with minimal losses and to help the Armenians of Artsakh," he said.

In the meantime, Armlur.am reported that there were guys in several black cars looking for the MP near his house.
