The residents of Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)] have a positive attitude towards the Russian peacekeepers and pin high hopes on their help, said Aleksey Polyukhovich, deputy commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Karabakh, RIA Novosti reports.

"The locals welcomed our peacekeeping troops very positively. They hope that with our arrival, the peaceful life will return," he said.

According to him, normal life is gradually being restored in the Artsakh capital Stepanakert.

Karabakh residents’ transport communication to and from Armenia is organized through the Lachin corridor. Polyukhovich noted that the civilian transport is accompanied exclusively by the peacekeepers.
