Armenia and Russia will lift restrictions on entry and exit which had been set due to the coronavirus pandemic. This is what Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan said in response to deputies’ questions during today’s question-and-answer session with government officials in parliament.

According to him, the parties had tried to solve this issue through the Eurasian Economic Union, but failed.

“Now we have decided to solve the issue in the bilateral format. We have made a decision that will provide the opportunity to establish a free border regime for all citizens who have their coronavirus test results or have already gotten infected with the coronavirus,” he added.

Grigoryan noted that the Armenian government approved this procedure on December 27 and now it’s the Russian side’s turn. He also said the decision will enter into force in Russia in the next few days.
