Iraqi Airways announced Saturday it will resume flights with Iran after briefly suspending flights over COVID-19 concerns, Mehr reported, citing Iraqi media.

An-Najaf-Tehran and An-Najaf-Mashhad air routes have been resumed, according to the Al-Forat news agency, referring to the Iraqi airline.

Iraqi authorities have imposed flight bans on a number of countries, including Iran, amid concerns over the spread of a newly discovered COVID-19 strain.

The COVID-19 new strain's case was reported in Iraq on January 14. The country has recorded five such cases so far.
