Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Suren Papikyan yesterday received the delegation led by US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Lynne Tracy.

Greeting the Ambassador, Papikyan stated that the Government of Armenia is persistent to solve the social and humanitarian issues that emerged due to last year’s challenges and, in this regard, attached importance to the ongoing cooperation with the US government.

“In 2021, the government plans to end administrative and territorial reforms in the country that are being carried out through the great contributions of the USAID. The strengthening and deepening of multisector cooperation with the United States is pivotal for improvement of infrastructures in Armenia,” Papikyan emphasized.

Ambassador Tracy reaffirmed the US government’s willingness for mutually beneficial cooperation with Armenia and voiced hope that the anti-crisis actions for Armenia’s economic recovery will best reflect on the Armenian-American partnering ties within the scope of the potential for development of Armenia’s infrastructures and investments.

In response, the minister stated that in spite of the damages caused in 2020 and the large number of people who are now homeless because of the war, Armenia is very resolute to reach economic stability this year and presented the upcoming programs for construction of a reservoir, modernization of irrigation systems, road construction, etc.
