The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic) has given a commentary on the new procedure for entry into the territory of the Republic of Artsakh.

The commentary states that, for security considerations, foreign citizens need to submit an application in advance in order to receive permission to enter. The procedure applies to the citizens of countries for which there is a visa regime, as well as the citizens of visa free countries.

The information about applications is also transmitted to the Russian peacekeeping forces, taking into consideration the security considerations.

Upon submission of applications, the foreign citizens will obtain their visas at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Artsakh in Yerevan, after which they may travel to the Republic of Artsakh.

As far as periods are concerned, work is being done to improve the mechanism. The visa will be issued in the course of three to four working days.

The mechanism is being introduced. Over the past few days, according to this procedure, representatives of several foreign presses and international organizations have entered the Republic of Artsakh.
