Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian today had a phone conversation with Vice-President of the European Commission, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, as reported the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The foreign minister and the EU High Representative congratulated each other on the completion of the ratification process of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement by EU member states.

Aivazian and Borrell also exchanged views on the cooperation with the EU and EU member states through the Eastern Partnership.

During the phone talks, they thoroughly touched upon regional security and stability issues and exchanged views on the humanitarian crisis created in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and the involvement of international partners in the actions to address the challenges facing the Armenians of Artsakh in consequence of the crisis.

The parties attached importance to addressing the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the scope of the Co-Chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group.
