The Security Council of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) today hosted a working consultation over the holding of snap elections of local self-government bodies, the powers of which have been prematurely terminated under government decisions.

Among the attendees were representatives of political parties represented in the National Assembly of Artsakh, Chairperson of the Central Electoral Commission Siran Avetisyan, Minister of Justice Karen Danielyan and Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Hamlet Apresyan.

The participants of the consultation exchanged views and expressed their stances on the organizing of snap elections of local self-government bodies. They viewed the first discussion on the holding of snap elections a success and expressed willingness to continue the substantive discussions and draft relevant recommendations.
