RIA Novosti’s special photojournalist Valery Melnikov won First Prize and the golden award in the General News, Stories category of the World Press Photo contest with his series “Paradise Lost” (the photos were taken during the war in Nagorno-Karabakh in September-November 2020).
This is the third time Melnikov won a prize at the World Press Photo contest.
