Leader of Palestine Mahmud Abbas on Wednesday held phone talks with King Abdullah II of Jordan and President of Iraq Barham Saleh and discussed the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the situation in the whole region, WAFA agency reports, citing the Office of Abbas.

During the talks, the leader of Palestine and the King of Jordan discussed the criminal and aggressive actions of the occupation forces [of Israel] against those praying for the Al-Axa mosque. They also discussed the dangerous escalation by Israel and its attack on Gaza. Both leaders agreed to continue consultations and coordinate efforts in order to counter the Israeli aggression against the people of Palestine, TASS reports.

In his turn, the President of Iraq affirmed his people’s support to the Palestinians and their legitimate rights. In response, the Palestinian leader expressed gratitude to Saleh for Baghdad’s position on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
