European Union has summoned the Permanent Representative of Belarus to the EU Alexander Mikhnevich because of the incident in Minsk with the Ryanair aircraft, EU's foreign service reported.
At the request of High Representative Josep Borrell, Secretary-General of the European External Action Service Stefano Sannino summoned the Ambassador of Belarus to the EU Alexander Mikhnevich to condemn the unacceptable step of the Belarusian authorities, which forced a civilian plane to make an emergency landing in Minsk and detained his passenger Roman Protasevich, an independent Belarusian journalist and an activist, the text says.
