Acting Foreign Minister of Armenia Ara Aivazian today received Ambassadors of the co-chairing countries of the OSCE Minsk Group to Armenia, including Sergey Kopirkin (Russian Federation), Jonathan Lacôte (France) and Lynne Tracy (USA).

As reported the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the acting foreign minister and the ambassadors touched upon the wide context of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and issues related to regional security and peace.

The focus of the meeting was on the situation created in the borderline provinces of Armenia following the infiltration of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan into the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia. The acting foreign minister presented the latest developments and reaffirmed Armenia’s willingness to solve the issue politically and diplomatically.

Aivazian considered any manifestation of encroachment on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia inadmissible and emphasized that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces leaving the territory of the Republic of Armenia immediately and unconditionally is the imperative in order to avoid further escalation of the situation.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the actions being taken.
