Pakistan has banned unvaccinated adults from domestic flights. Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan announced the ban on Twitter, stating that only fully vaccinated passengers aged 18 and over will be able to fly domestically within Pakistan, AP reported.

The government said last week that the unvaccinated will not be allowed to work in offices and visit shopping malls.

The bans do not apply to children who are not yet eligible to participate in the Pakistani vaccination campaign.

In a country of 220 million, nearly 30 million people are fully vaccinated. There is no shortage of vaccines, but many people are hesitant, and new measures are aimed at pushing them to get vaccinated.

Pakistan has recorded 1.2 million COVID-19 cases and 27,785 deaths since the start of the pandemic last year.
