Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan on Wednesday received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia Masanori Fukushima.

As reported the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, Khachaturyan touched upon Japan’s economic achievements in which high technologies play a special role and stated that Japan’s experience can be exemplary for Armenia in the context of development of the high-tech industry. Talking about the opportunities for cooperation in the field of technology, Khachaturyan particularly set aside the processes targeted at digitization. He stressed that Japan is one of the leaders in the world in terms of effectiveness of digitization and that there are realistic preconditions for effective cooperation in this sector.

Ambassador Masanori congratulated Khachaturyan on assuming office and attached importance to the strengthening of economic ties, including cooperation in the field of technology. He added that there are many resources for development of technology in Armenia and that Japan sees several opportunities for cooperation in the country.

During the meeting, the parties also touched upon the already reached agreements according to which Japanese experts will work with their Armenian colleagues in 2022.
