His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians today received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Armenia Patrik Svensson at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
During the meeting, the Supreme Patriarch touched upon the internal and external challenges facing the Armenian people and expressed his gratitude to Sweden and international diplomatic missions for supporting and standing with Armenia and the Armenian people during the difficult days of the war and the post-war period.
His Holiness also expressed his appreciation to the Swedish authorities for their generosity towards the Armenian community and mentioned that the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin is willing to work with the Embassy of Sweden in various sectors.
In his turn, Ambassador Svensson extended thanks for the cordial reception, voiced hope that the Armenian people will be able to overcome all the difficulties caused by the war and emphasized that he is very impressed with Armenia and the hospitality of the Armenian people. Svensson assured His Holiness that the Swedish embassy will make efforts to further deepen and enhance the Armenian-Swedish relations in different fields through the implementation of several programs.
