Former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, who was apprehended in Tbilisi on Friday, has been allegedly transferred to a prison in Tbilisi, the Georgian Pirveli TV reports.

According to Pirveli TV, Saakashvili’s supporters are expected to gather near the prison building.

Earlier, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili had promised that Saakashvili would be comfortably transferred to prison with his collection of ties as soon as he returned to Georgia.

Earlier, Saakashvili had disseminated a video message in which he said that he was allegedly in Batumi. The video was taped at night, and one could notice the sea and buildings, which were similar to the buildings in Batumi. He reported that he would be in Tbilisi on October 2-3 and called on people to gather in central Tbilisi. The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs declared that Saakashvili hadn’t crossed the state border of Ukraine and hadn’t entered Georgia. Later, Imedi TV promised that Saakashvili was in Truskavtse in the last four days.

Before that, Saakashvili had announced his intention to return to the homeland before the local self-government elections scheduled to be held in October. Georgia had declared a search against him within the scope of a few criminal cases, and the Georgian authorities had declared that they would apprehend him as soon as he crossed the border.
