A planet that orbits three stars at once has been discovered for the first time, astronomers believe, The New York Times reported.

The unusual GW Orionis star system is located 1,300 light-years from Earth.

The experts' respective conclusions are based on computer modeling which used observations made with the telescope of the European Southern Observatory.

According to experts, the discovered planet is a gas giant. If the monitoring device were on it, it could see three suns in the sky at the same time from the surface of this planet.

Because the two stars rotate at relatively small distances from each other, they simply have the appearance of a single point of illumination.

In any case, incredible sunrises and sunsets are guaranteed on this planet.
